An Incomplete Revenge is my first Jacqueline Winspear and Maisie Dobbs novel. I checked Maisie #5 out from my local library and listened to the audio book version and did not technically “read” the book, which possibly alters my response to the book, but I really hope not.
In the story, Maisie investigates specific matters for a potential land purchase. As she investigates she interviews various villagers of Heronsdene in regards to two main themes: Random fires that occur on an annual basis and a Zepplin encounter that occurred during the war. But Maisie also has a private life outside of investigating and that story is told as well.
First, I want to say I enjoyed this book. Sometimes giving a book 3 stars might give a bad impression. That’s not the case – I liked the book. I liked the characters and the town and the story, but there were a few things that weighed it down while I was reading it, which is how I came to give it 3 stars.
